“Art is the highest form of hope.”
— Gerhard Richter

Above all, Geoffrey Pagen’s art is the expression of his lifelong love affair with the natural world. Each piece is rendered with a precise understanding and command of the colors and materials of nature. Working in clay, glass, steel, wood and brick, he makes objects that also reflect the intimate relationship between Pagen and the materials. His work has a dynamic physicality, a corporality that is simultaneously muscular and ethereal. These works evoke the pull of gravity, the solidity of mountains, the Infinity of water and the mystery of air: they embody hope.
